Step 1: Log In to Your Domain Registrar #
- Go to the website of your domain registrar (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains).
- Log in with your credentials to access your domain management dashboard.
Step 2: Locate the DNS Settings #
- In your domain registrar’s dashboard, navigate to the DNS Settings or Domain Management section.
- Look for the option to manage DNS records or edit nameservers.
Step 3: Update the Nameservers #
- Replace the existing nameservers with OzSpeed’s nameservers:
- Primary Nameserver:
ns1.ozspeed.com.au
- Secondary Nameserver:
ns2.ozspeed.com.au
- Primary Nameserver:
- Save the changes.
Tip: #
- DNS changes may take up to 48 hours to fully propagate across the internet. During this time, your domain might not resolve immediately.
Step 4: Verify the DNS Propagation #
- Use a DNS checker tool like dnschecker.org to ensure that your domain’s nameservers have been updated globally.
- Enter your domain name and check the nameserver records to see if they reflect the OzSpeed nameservers.
Step 5: Add the Domain in OzSpeed hPanel #
- Log in to your OzSpeed hPanel at ozspeed.com.au.
- Go to the “Domains” section and click “Add New Domain”.
- Enter your domain name and click “Add Domain”.
- Set the domain as the primary domain or link it to an existing website.
Step 6: Configure DNS Records (Optional) #
If you need custom DNS configurations (e.g., for email services or subdomains), follow these steps:
- In hPanel, go to the DNS Zone Editor.
- Add or update records such as:
- A Record: Points the domain to the server’s IP address.
- CNAME Record: Used for subdomains (e.g., www.yourdomain.com).
- MX Record: Directs email traffic for your domain.
- Save the changes.
Step 7: Test Your Domain #
- Open a web browser and enter your domain name to check if it is now pointing to your OzSpeed hosting.
- If your website doesn’t load, try clearing your browser cache or testing in Incognito Mode.
Additional Tips: #
- Propagation Time: It can take anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours for DNS changes to fully propagate. Be patient if your website doesn’t resolve immediately.
- Check for Typos: Double-check the nameserver entries for typos, as incorrect nameservers will prevent your domain from pointing correctly.
- Contact Support: If you encounter issues, reach out to OzSpeed Support via the Support Center in hPanel.
